Jenn Wright’s (Really a) Pain in the Butt

You won’t find confirmation on Snopes.com, but it’s true.

Social Media networks today circulated word that photographer Jennifer Leone (aka Jenn Wright) was hospitalized with profound pain in her lower back, hips, and backside. An Emergency Room examination at Seattle’s Virginia Mason Hospital confirmed that she was “a might touchy,” according to the Attending Physician.

An MRI showed that the source of the pain is an abscess in the muscle group above the right butt cheek. Generally, the whole pelvic floor is aflame with an as-yet-unidentified “beashtie” “beastie,” as the Scotch Scots would say.

NarniaCoverThe abscess and infection would certainly explain the high fevers and chills that the co-author of Two Roads Through Narnia was experiencing in the wee hours of the morning. “We well know what those symptoms mean,” says her husband Greg. “Sepsis.

“And there’s only one road through that illness. Straight to the hospital.”

It’s a road that Wright hasn’t had to travel since New Year’s Eve at the transition between 2012 and 2013, and she’s decidedly grateful for that.

She doesn’t offer much more insight at this point, however. “Shut up and let me sleep,” she declared when we contacted her for comment.

For now, the erstwhile shutterbug is getting her own bugs shuttered by powerful antibiotics and bed rest. Doctors expect to keep her cloistered for at least a couple of days… once the abscess gets tapped this evening.

It’s bound to be a draining experience.
